Meta VR Glasses: UK release date and price

Meta VR Glasses are a virtual reality headset shrunk to roughly the size of chunky sunglasses. The trick is moving the chip, battery and storage into a separate puck of about 300g that clips to a pocket and connects by a thin tether, leaving around 100g on the face. Meta quotes a 5K micro-OLED display and up to three hours of media playback per charge. Unlike Ray-Ban Meta or Ray-Ban Display, these are not see-through glasses for wearing down the street; they are for films, games and work sessions, with a camera view of the room when needed. Meta announced them at Connect on 23 September 2026 at $1,299.99, on sale in spring 2027. Meta’s UK product page, which said ‘Coming Spring 2027’ in early October, read ‘Coming early 2027’ when we checked on 25 October, with a notify-me form; the US page still says spring. Road to VR reports the UK among 25 launch countries. There is no UK price, no exact date, and pre-orders are not open, so any sterling figure you see now is a currency conversion, not a price. For a household this is a premium media device rather than a phone replacement; for a small firm the pitch is a private, portable big screen.
