Who we are
Landing Soon is published by Project Forward Technologies Ltd (company number 16873528), registered office 19 Landseer Way, Leeds, LS13 2TU. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact us about privacy at hello@landingsoon.co.uk.
What we collect
- When you subscribe: your email address, your first name if you choose to give it, the page you signed up on (and the site that sent you there, if the link said so, for example LinkedIn), and when you confirmed your subscription.
- When you follow a link from one of our emails or posts: the page counts the visit anonymously (which email or post, and which page). No cookies are set and nothing is recorded that could identify you.
- When you ask for an arrival alert: your email address and the board items you've asked us to tell you about.
- When we email you: our email provider records whether each email was delivered, bounced or reported as spam, so we can stop emailing addresses that don't work or don't want us.
- When you visit the website: our hosting provider processes your IP address and basic request details to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. Our sign-up form uses a one-way scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address to limit repeated submissions; we don't store the address itself.
We don't set advertising or tracking cookies on this website.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
- Sending the newsletter and arrival alerts: your consent, given when you sign up and confirm by email. Asking for an alert doesn't sign you up to the newsletter unless you tick the box. You can withdraw consent at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email.
- Measuring how the newsletter performs, and keeping the site secure: our legitimate interests in running a useful, reliable publication.
We will never sell your data, and we won't share it with the companies we write about.
Who processes it for us
- Cloudflare, Inc.: website hosting and security.
- Google Cloud (Firebase): runs our sign-up service and stores the subscriber list, in London (europe-west2).
- Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc.): sends our emails.
- GitHub, Inc.: runs the job that sends each issue.
Some of these providers process data in the United States. Where they do, the transfer is protected by the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep your details while you're subscribed. If you don't confirm a sign-up within 30 days, we delete it. If you unsubscribe, we keep your email address and the date marked as unsubscribed, so we don't email you again by mistake; ask us and we'll delete it entirely. Website request logs are kept by our hosting provider for a short period for security.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, object to how we use it, or ask us to restrict it. Email hello@landingsoon.co.uk and we'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
