I edit Landing Soon, a free weekly newsletter and arrivals board that tracks when emerging technology actually reaches the UK: home robots, self-driving cars and robotaxis, delivery drones, air taxis, smart glasses and AI tools for work. Every item has a status, the best-sourced UK date and price I can find, and links to every source.
I started it because the announcements never answer the questions that matter if you run a business or a household: can I actually buy this here, when, and for how much? The Slip Index grew out of the same frustration. It records every date a company promises in public, and whether it held.
How I work
Research and first drafts are done by The Arrivals Desk, which uses AI tools to check far more sources each week than I could alone. I edit every issue and approve every change to the board before it's published. A date only counts when the company has said it publicly, rumours are labelled as rumours, and every claim links to its source. The full rules are on the about page.
Day job
I run Project Forward, which builds websites for UK small businesses. Landing Soon is published by its company, Project Forward Technologies Ltd, and isn't paid by any of the companies it tracks.
