Gemini is Google’s AI assistant, and on Google Workspace it is no longer a paid extra. In January 2025 Google folded Gemini into its Business and Enterprise plans, withdrew the separate Gemini Business add-on and raised list prices to cover it. In the UK, Gemini sits inside the plans many small firms already pay for to run Gmail on their own domain. Google’s UK prices are £5.90, £11.80 and £18.40 per user per month ex VAT for Business Starter, Standard and Plus on an annual commitment; flexible monthly billing costs more, at around £7, £14 and £22 according to UK resellers. Starter gets Gemini in Gmail and basic access to the Gemini app. Standard and above add Gemini in Docs, Sheets, Meet and Drive, plus reusable custom instructions: Gems, which Google is replacing with ‘skills’, with existing Gems migrated. Skills began rolling out to the Gemini app on 13 October 2026, but their arrival inside Workspace apps is delayed until further notice, with no new date as of 1 November, and business users can keep Gems until no sooner than 1 March 2027. Since February 2026, heavier use of video, image generation and deep reasoning sits behind an AI Expanded Access add-on for Standard and Plus, which Google has not priced publicly. For a trade firm, the practical uses are drafting quotes and customer emails, summarising long threads and tidying job notes. It does not know your prices or your stock unless you tell it, so check every draft.
